An Education That Works

May 8, 2015

Cedarville Magazine spring-summer 15We are excited to give you a “sneak peek” of the spring/summer issue of Cedarville Magazine – “An Education That Works.” A Cedarville education prepares graduates to work in their chosen career fields, be admitted to graduate school, and most importantly, to honor God with their work.

Read through the magazine and you’ll learn why corporate recruiters visit Cedarville to find engineers, why the Washington Post praised our business program for its real-world experience, and why premed students have a leg up when applying to med school.

You’ll also read how our high placement rate — 96.8% for the class of 2014 — proves our education works and hear from parents about why Cedarville was a great investment for their families.

Enjoy this introduction to Cedarville Magazine and be encouraged as you look forward to the possibilities awaiting your son or daughter at Cedarville University.

Along with our admissions and financial aid teams, we have enjoyed communicating with our Parent Prep subscribers this year as you have prayerfully considered Cedarville University.

As you finalize this decision as a family, we thought it may be helpful to share the top reasons your student's future classmates tell us they have chosen Cedarville:

  • Academic excellence: We have the in-demand majors students want, and our grads are excelling at places like Harvard, NASA, and Procter & Gamble (just to name a few). Cedarville doesn't just "talk" about quality. It is validated by national surveys, college rankings, job and graduate school placement data, competition results, and test scores.
  • Gospel purpose: It's not just a buzzword here. Preparing students to live out their faith is a part of every aspect of classes, residence life, activities, and ministries.
  • Outstanding value: The rigorous academic experience is life-changing, costs and scholarships are competitive, and Cedarville is worth the investment.

If you have any last-minute questions or concerns that need to be addressed, we want to help! You are welcome to email us, or call your student's admissions counselor at 1-800-CEDARVILLE (233-2784).

Measuring Cedarville's ROI

April 24, 2015

College CostsAs high school seniors and their parents sit down this spring to make final college decisions, one topic may present a daunting hurdle: the rising cost of a college education. While many universities — including Cedarville — are taking dramatic steps to curb that upward trend, parents are increasingly looking at job placement rates in order to weigh an institution’s benefits against its costs in an effort to decide whether or not a considerable investment is worthwhile.

Cedarville's placement rates continue to be impressive. In a sixth-month postgraduation final destination survey, 96.8% of Cedarville's class of 2014 reported being employed or in graduate school. That's well above the national averages reported by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, which has reported an average of 88% over the last five years.

But don't just take our word for it. In today's post, you'll read a Q&A that was published in the recent spring/summer issue of Cedarville Magazine and hear what other parents are saying about their children's experience at Cedarville.

P.S. Ready to finalize the decision to attend Cedarville? Submit the $250 reservation deposit online today! As a reminder, the reservation deposit is due by May 1.
