Students Bring Hope and Healing to Nicaragua

May 22, 2018

One thing that sets a Cedarville education apart is the focus we place on reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We encourage every student to be a part of a missions trip during their time at Cedarville, and our Global Outreach office makes it possible for them to do so. As we seek to be a blessing to others, it is our students who are often changed the most from these life-transforming experiences.

This spring, three nursing students from Cedarville were part of a team that treated 2,500 patients in Nicaragua on a medical missions trip with Global Health Outreach (GHO). Their team saw more than 250 people give their lives to Jesus. Watch the video below and be encouraged by the powerful testimony of God's faithfulness during this trip.

This summer, hundreds of our students will go out on missions trips around the country and across the globe, taking the hope that is only found in Christ to a needy world.

Why Do Alumni Send Their Students to Cedarville?

May 10, 2018

education major in classroom with young students with hands raised and papers in handWhat makes Cedarville alumni want to send their children to Cedarville? For Cathy Exline, a Cedarville 1995 elementary education graduate, it can be summed up in one word: excellence.

Cathy found that her Cedarville experience prepared her well for the challenges of classroom teaching. "When I began my first position teaching fifth grade, my colleagues and I would chat about our college experiences," she explained. "I found that I was much more prepared to be in the classroom than other new teachers because Cedarville required and provided many more field experiences in actual classrooms. That hands-on experience allowed me to go into my first few years more confident and prepared."

Now, years later, Cathy’s daughter, Cayla, is a high school senior preparing to start her own college journey at Cedarville next fall as an elementary education major. "Of course, I wanted her to choose Cedarville," Cathy shared, "but I knew it would have to be her choice." After exploring several Christian universities, Cayla chose Cedarville.

"When we visited Cedarville, I was pleasantly surprised that many things have changed since I attended," Cathy said, referencing things like relaxed dress code and rules and new facilities. "But one thing that did not change was Cedarville's commitment to excellence in all they do."

One thing that stood out for the Exlines was the hands-on experience Cayla will receive immediately as an education major, something that Cathy herself benefited from years earlier. "We found that with Cedarville's connection with Xenia Community Schools in the Collaborative Clinical Partnership, our daughter would have even more immediate, authentic experience in the classroom to practice the things she learns in her college education courses," Cathy explained. "I was pleased with her decision to choose Cedarville and I am excited about all the opportunities she will receive."

Whatever the major, Cedarville University is equipping students with hands-on experience that enriches their academically excellent, biblically integrated coursework.

P.S. If your student has been accepted to Cedarville for fall 2018, there is still time to pay the deposit to reserve his or her place. But don't wait ... deposits are already at an all-time high!

Graduation Celebrates Transformed Lives

May 8, 2018

smiling graduatesThis past weekend, Cedarville University celebrated the graduation of 775 new alumni, including those earning both undergraduate and graduate degrees.

More than just a number, these 775 students represent lives that were transformed by their time at Cedarville. Students who grew closer in their walk with the Lord from intentional mentoring, daily chapels, and biblical integration in their coursework. Students who were challenged by rigorous academics and prepared to succeed in their chosen field. Students who were in the same place as your student just four years ago, and are now ready to go out into the world and make a difference for Christ.

Be encouraged that your student, too, will experience amazing transformation at Cedarville, and you’ll be surprised at how fast the next four years will go! We will be praying for you and your student as you prepare for the transition to college life.

National College Decision Day Is Today!

May 1, 2018

Today is May 1 — the National College Decision Day! We are so thankful for the number of students who have already confirmed their plans to be at Cedarville in August. Here are the top reasons students and parents give for their choice:

  • Biblical worldview. It's not just a buzzword here; it's intentionally part of every aspect of classes, residence life, activities, and ministries.
  • Academic reputation. We have the in-demand majors students want, and our grads are excelling at places like Harvard, NASA, and Procter & Gamble (just to name a few). Cedarville doesn't just "talk" about quality. It is validated by national surveys, college rankings, job and graduate school placement data, competition results, and test scores.
  • Outstanding value. The rigorous academic experience is life-changing, costs and scholarships are competitive, and Cedarville is worth the investment.

If this is what you desire for your student, I encourage you to take that next step by faith and submit a reservation deposit today. I do not believe you will ever regret that decision.

If your student has already paid the deposit and is excited to enroll this fall, thank you! We are privileged to come alongside parents like you to equip young men and women for professional excellence and Gospel impact. We're excited to welcome your family to the Cedarville family in August!

Still finalizing this decision, you may reach me personally today. It would be a privilege to serve you.
