Harold P. "Howdy" House Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 1983 by Calvary Baptist Church of Byesville, OH, this endowed scholarship was created in loving memory of their pastor, Harold P. "Howdy" House. Recipients must be full-time junior or senior student in a Biblical Education major with the intent to pursue a career as a pastor or missionary. Recipients must also have a grade average of 2.0 or above and demonstrated financial need. Recipient shall have previous involvement in "personal work" and preaching which shall be substantiated by a letter of recommendation by the student's pastor or by the pastor of a church where internship or volunteer work has been completed. Preference is given to members of Calvary Baptist Church, then residents of Guernsey County, Ohio, and finally residents of Coshocton County, Ohio. Candidates must also submit a recommendation form from a pastor if interested in this scholarship. The Director of Financial Aid under consultation of the Division of Student Life and Christian Ministries selects the recipient.
