Ruth Counter Klopfenstein, R.N. and A. Rees Klopfenstein, M.D. Nursing Education Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2002 by Thomas and Joan Klopfenstein, this endowed scholarship was created to assist a full-time junior and a senior student in the School of Nursing. The junior student must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and a 3.0 grade point average in basic sciences. The senior student must have a cumulative grade average of 2.75 and a 3.0 grade point average in professional nursing courses. Recipients must also demonstrate Christian character in their personal and professional life and a commitment to the nursing profession. Financial need may be considered. Preference will be given to students who received the scholarship in their junior year if they meet the above criteria. Recipients may receive the scholarship for a maximum of 2 years. The Dean of the School of Nursing and the Nursing faculty select the recipients.
