  1. Click the "Insert" tab > Click "SmartArt" in the "Illustrations" group.
  2. From the left hand side of the pop-up that appears, select which category of chart you would like to view.
  3. Within the category you have chosen, click a specific chart to select it > click [OK].

Creating a Chart Using Shapes

  1. Click the "Insert" tab.
  2. Click "Shapes" in the "Illustrations" group > Select the desired shape or line.
  3. Click and drag to place your shape or line where you would like it to go.
  4. Continue steps 1 through 3 for as many shapes as needed.

Format Shapes:

  1. With any of the shapes selected, click the "Drawing Tools" tab or "Text Box Tools" tab above the menu bar.
  2. Use any of the format options in the menu bar to customize the flowchart.
  3. To place text in a shape, select the shape and type or right-click the shape and choose "Add Text."

WordPerfect Users

If you wish to insert an organizational chart in WordPerfect, first create the chart in Microsoft PowerPoint. Then select the entire chart, right-click on the chart, and choose "Save as Picture." Insert the picture into your WordPerfect document.
