Office: Repair Function

If one of your Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, or Word) starts malfunctioning, you might want to try the "repair" feature to see if that will fix the problem. After closing out of any Microsoft Office programs, try the following steps:

  1. Click "Start"  > Click "Control Panel."
  2. Click "Programs and Features."
  3. From the list of programs, select "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016" (or whichever version of Microsoft Office you are currently running) > Click [Change].
  4. If prompted, enter an administrator password > Click [Yes].
  5. Select the "Repair" option > Click [Continue].
  6. After the repair is complete, click [Close] > [Yes] to restart your system.

If this does not resolve the issue, or if you would rather the IT technicians do the repair, submit an online Information Technology Request (ITR).
