Outlook: Keyboard Shortcuts

Before you start...

In Microsoft Outlook, you can get to regular menu options by pressing a combination of keyboard keys called a keyboard shortcut instead of looking for that option in the menu. Using keyboard shortcuts can help improve your efficiency as you navigate through Outllook and perform different functions. 

List of Keyboard Shortcuts in Outlook

  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + A: Create a new appointment
  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + C: Create a new contact
  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + E: Search for an item
  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + K: Create a new task
  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + M: Create a new email message
  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + N: Create a new note
  • [Ctrl] + [Shift] + Q: Create a new meeting request
  • [Ctrl] + M: Send and receive emails
  • [Ctrl] + N: Create a new item pertaining to your current view (i.e. a new calendar event if you are in the Calendar, or a new email message if you are in Mail)
  • [Ctrl] + P: Print (opens print options)
