Landscape Maintenance

Landscape Maintenance oversees the landscape maintenance and improvement of more than 300 acres (not including Cedarville's 70-80 acres of athletic fields). Four full-time staff members, 12 summer student workers, and 20 school-year student workers serve the University by installing new scenery and maintaining the current landscape.

Steve Prether, Manager of University Grounds

Steve came to Cedarville University as a full time groundskeeper in 2006. In the summer of 2016 he took the position of Manager of University Grounds. Steve is a graduate of Universal Technical Institute, Chicago and Greene County Career Center in automotive technology. He has his Class B drivers, forklift, and spray licenses. He's certified with Utility Technologies International Corp to dig utilities such as gas lines, electric, phone, fiber and water. He is also a hydro seeder operator.
