Keeping You Updated – April 17, 2020

Friday, April 17, 2020

Outdoor photo of the Dixon Ministry Center (DMC) buildingAs we continue in this time of remote (online) instruction with most of our faculty and staff also working from home, we have been sending daily emails to the campus community to keep us connected and informed. To ensure parents are also receiving relevant information, we will send you a weekly update with highlights from our daily communications. If you would like to receive the daily updates personally, please subscribe to our COVID-19 blog

Financial Aid Packages

Financial Aid began sending out 2020-21 financial aid packages to continuing students this week. Students should watch their email for a notification that their awards are ready to view at selfservice.cedarville.edu. In an effort to be as flexible as possible in these days, no students will lose their Cedarville academic scholarship for next school year as a result of poor academic performance this spring. The Financial Aid office stands ready to assist those who may have experienced severe economic impact as a result of the Coronavirus. We want to make sure all students succeed in their educational pursuits and will help as we can. Please email finaid@cedarville.edu if you have aid-related questions.

Weekly COVID-19 School of Pharmacy Update

Watch as infectious disease expert Dr. Zach Jenkins, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, provides an update on the latest news on the interleukin receptor inhibitors used to treat patients with COVID-19.

Navigating the Online Learning Environment

If your student is struggling with the online learning environment, he or she can sign up to be matched with a Peer Academic Guide, a service from The Cove. With a goal to help students finish strong this semester, this academic guide will work one-on-one with them to help them stay motivated and accountable to complete tasks and provide support for navigating learning online. To request a Peer Academic Guide, students should email The Cove at thecove@cedarville.edu.

Residence Hall Move Out

We have added additional move-out dates during May, and there are slots available this weekend for those who are able to travel.

Fall Registration

Registration remains open for all continuing students. Before registering for fall classes, undergraduate students should gain their advisor’s approval, and all students will need to sign the Financial Responsibility Agreement in CedarInfo. When these steps have been completed, students need to log in to their Student Planning account to complete the registration process.

Commencement Regalia

The class of 2020 can now order regalia directly from the Jostens website or the Graduation Regalia menu link on the Cedarville Bookstore website. Please keep in mind that it takes approximately five weeks to receive regalia once ordered, and the site will be active until the end of August. That will provide ample time to purchase regalia for the planned October 2-3 commencement weekend. Typically regalia is included in students’ $75 commencement fee, but since the University has waived the commencement fee this year, students will be responsible for the cost of their regalia (which is approximately $25 less than the commencement fee).

Inside View

Dr. White sent out his monthly Inside View e-newsletter this week, with updates and news from campus.

Chapel

We invite you to join us for chapel each weekday at 10 a.m. via Facebook Live or the University website. We have scheduled live chapels on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with Tuesdays and Thursdays featuring favorite messages from our chapel archive. Dr. White is scheduled to speak this coming Monday, April 20, with a final message in his yearlong "Faithful" series from the book of Nehemiah.
