Spinal Cord


This is a a very low-power view of a cross section of a human spinal cord.  Much more detail is now visible, because of the use of a special stain.  Notice the typical "butterfly" appearance of gray matter, with the anterior horns towards the bottom and the posterior horns towards the top.
