One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

Andrew Symington

Andrew Symington ’14 is a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is seeking to earn a Master of Music degree in French horn performance, with the eventual goal of playing in a professional orchestra.

Andrew recalls, “The education I received at Cedarville prepared me to thrive in graduate school due to the high academic and musical standards of my professors, ensemble directors, and my private teacher. Their guidance was most meaningful, however, because those standards of excellence were not driven by vain pride but by belief in God’s love and worthiness to receive our best effort. God used them to inspire the same belief in me. I am very grateful too for their kindness, constructive criticism, and intentionality in relating to me as a person. I wish to emulate these characteristics.

The camaraderie I experienced at Cedarville with my fellow music students also played a major role in spurring me on down the path that God has laid out for me. There are not many places where so many people are pursuing excellence with integrity based on a shared trust in Jesus Christ and His Word.” Andrew Symington ‘14
