Pharmacy Early Assurance Program
Gain Admission to Pharmacy School as a High School Student!
Cedarville University's Early Assurance Program enables talented high school students to gain early admission to the Doctor of Pharmacy program (PharmD). This means a seat will be reserved for you in our Doctor of Pharmacy program before you complete your undergraduate studies. You can earn your PharmD degree in as little as six years. A seven-year pathway is also available. This early assurance option eliminates the stress of competing for a spot in the doctoral program after completing the undergraduate prerequisites.
There is no firm application deadline. Your entry into the early assurance program will be considered as long as there are seats available in the class.
If you do not initially qualify for early assurance, you may still enroll at Cedarville as a pharmaceutical sciences student. Your pharmacy faculty advisor will help you develop a plan to pursue admission to the School of Pharmacy. If your Cedarville spring semester cumulative GPA is higher than 3.0, you may apply for the early assurance program at this time.
Students who receive entry into the early assurance program are eligible to receive a renewable scholarship awarded up to $5,000. This scholarship will be added to any other undergraduate scholarships you may receive.
Early Assurance Application Process
- Gain admittance to Cedarville University
- Complete and submit your undergraduate application for admission. You may begin this process as soon as your high school posts your final junior year grades. The undergraduate application opens on June 1.
- Declare your program of interest as pharmaceutical sciences on your application.
- Accept your Early Assurance status.
Recommended Minimum Qualifications
For freshmen students accepted at Cedarville directly from high school, early assurance invitations are based on:
- Declared major on application: pharmaceutical sciences
- Taking a college preparatory high school curriculum, earning a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.25 or higher
- Recommended: ACT composite of at least 23 or SAT composite of at least 1130. Cedarville does not require a standardized test score as a requirement for admission. For more information, visit the Test Optional FAQs page.

Direct Entry Continuation Requirements
To continue as a pre-pharmacy student and move into the PharmD program, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Grade point average of at least 3.0 at the end of each pre-pharmacy year
- "C" grade or higher in all courses
- Completion of all pre-pharmacy curriculum
- Successful interview with School of Pharmacy faculty during fall semester of the final pre-pharmacy year
