Does Cedarville "superscore" or recombine ACT and SAT Scores?

Although standardized tests are not required for admission, if you choose to submit multiple test scores, Cedarville will take the highest subscore for each subject from any test date and then average the subscores to calculate a "superscore."

What are the policies governing the use of ACT and SAT scores by the University?

Admission and Scholarship Decisions

Cedarville University will consider your highest superscored ACT composite score or superscored SAT combined score (evidence based reading and writing and math) for academic and scholarship decisions.

Proficiency Requirements

Upon enrollment, University students must demonstrate proficiency in English and mathematics. For proficiency purposes, Cedarville University will consider the highest subject score from either the ACT or SAT.

English proficiency can be met with either a score of 21 on the English section of ACT, or a score of 550 on the evidence based reading and writing section of the SAT.

Math proficiency can be met with either a score of 19 on the math section of the ACT, or a score of 530 on the math section of the SAT.

For students who do not submit a standardized test score, other proficiency testing may be required to determine course placement.

If I'm an international student, should I submit TOEFL or IELTS scores?

In most cases, either IELTS or TOEFL scores are required of all international applicants. All test scores must be sent directly from the test agency to Cedarville University. Online screen shots of TOELF/IELTS will not be accepted.

Visit www.toefl.org or www.ielts.org for more information and to register for one of these tests.  Cedarville's TOEFL code number is 1151.

What about my AP, IB, and CLEP test scores?

Cedarville does utilize test scores submitted from the  Advanced Placement program, the International Baccalaureate program, and the College Level Examination program.
