Cedarville University has become a pipeline for Kettering Health Network (KHN) and JPMorgan Chase, as both organizations are set to add several Cedarville graduates to their team following the end of the current academic year.
According to a recent report from the university's career services department, 25 recent or soon-to-be graduates will begin their careers soon after receiving their degrees at the May 7 commencement. The university's School of Nursing has 17 students who've accepted positions at KHN; this represents almost 10 percent of KHN’s new hires this year.

“We believe Cedarville University’s nursing program elevates the integrity, quality and compassionate readiness we appreciate so much,” said Steve Capenos, recruitment coordinator for KHN. “Over the years, we have enjoyed a progressively growing relationship with Cedarville, and we plan to continue cultivating this relationship in the years to come.
KHN is a not-for-profit network of eight hospitals, nine emergency departments and 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio. Cedarville currently has students in clinical experience at several of KHN’s hospitals.
“KHN offers a program to help aid the transition from college to the professional nursing practice, which gives me confidence that I will be adequately prepared for working in the nursing field,” said Kristen Reeves, a senior who will begin working for KHN this summer. “I am blessed to have been hired into a network that is so focused on excellent patient care and showing the love of Christ to all.”
While KHN seeks to hire Cedarville nursing student graduates, JPMorgan Chase has consistently pursued students who earn business or computer science degrees for similar reasons.
Eight upcoming 2016 graduates have been extended a job offer and will begin their career soon after the university’s May graduation, working at offices in Delaware, New York and Columbus, Ohio.
“I’m excited to be returning to JPMorgan Chase in a full-time role,” said Jessica Evanoff, a senior management major from Loveland, Ohio, who served as an operations intern with the company. “Cedarville’s school of business does a great job of preparing students for their careers, and I’m confident that the lessons I learned at Cedarville will set me up for success.”
JPMorgan Chase is the largest bank in the United States and the sixth largest in the world, with assets in excess of $2.6 trillion, according to Forbes.
“I’m quite pleased that a number of our business students have had opportunities with JPMorgan Chase,” said Jeff Guernsey, associate professor of finance. “Our students are very well prepared academically and have the maturity level needed to succeed at a high level. We have several graduates who already work for JPMorgan Chase, and that’s really helped open the door for others.”
