Vertical Church Band Highlights Worship 4:24

by Victoria Stearns, Public Relations Writer

With the mission to equip worship leaders and musicians to use their talents for God’s glory, the Cedarville University Department of Music and Worship, in conjunction with the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio, will host the Worship 4:24 conference at Cedarville from January 29-30.

The conference will feature workshops and classes for worship leaders, musicians, praise and worship bands, choirs, tech crews and students. In addition, those in attendance will be treated to a free concert from Meredith Andrews and the Vertical Church band at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29.

Andrews, a Dove Award-winning artist, is known for popular worship songs such as “Strong God,” “Not For a Moment” and “Open Up the Heavens,” which are sung in worship services and played on radio stations throughout the country.

Vertical Church Band has produced numerous top hits in contemporary Christian music, including its latest album “Church Songs,” which has peaked at No. 1 on the Christian music charts and No. 31 on the Billboard 200.

The Vertical Church Band crafts songs with one intention: to invite their local community and a multiplying national audience to arrive at a place that is vertical – eyes and worship solely on the Lord. “Church Songs” was released in 2015 and features popular songs such as “Spirit of the Living God,” “Do What You Want To” and “Shout it Out.”

Rick Muchow, who has more than 30 years of experience as a musician and worship leader, will be the keynote speaker for Worship 4:24. Muchow served on staff at Saddleback Church in California for 25 years and continues to write songs and articles while mentoring worship leaders across the country.

Worship 4:24 will cover all the bases of successful worship by offering classes for each of the major instruments in a praise band, while also providing breakout sessions in multisite worship, sound, video and technology.

Notable breakout session leaders include Craig Adams, creative director for LifeWay Worship Nashville; Doug Gould, CEO and founder of Worship Market Development; and Gerald Trottman, professional jazz composer and musician.

Inline registration for Worship 4:24 is closed, but there will be on-site registration at the door. For more information, visit www.cedarville.edu/Event/Worship424.aspx or call 1-877-CEDARVILLE (233-2784).
