Cedarville alumnus Michael Hall has been named director of policy to newly sworn-in Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
Hall, a 1996 graduate, most recently served as the policy director for the DeWine-Husted for Ohio Campaign. Prior to his service on the election campaign, Hall was a partner with Ice Miller, LLP in its government affairs practice group. He also served in the office of then-U.S. Sen. DeWine.
Hall previously served as director of outside counsel to DeWine when he was Ohio Attorney General. In that position, he directed the delivery of legal services by 150 law firms to more than 90 state agencies, universities, colleges and retirement systems.

He also advised the attorney general on economic development and workforce issues and managed all of the securities fraud litigation and other complex investor litigation for the state.
“The opportunity to serve the governor in this role prompts me to look back and observe how God’s guiding hand planned each chapter of my career that put me on the path to this new opportunity,” said Hall.
Hall holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Cedarville University and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri.
“When I first came to Cedarville, I had no idea that my new home in the middle of an Ohio cornfield was also the home of the then lieutenant governor, future United States senator and now governor of the state of Ohio,” Hall added. “But God knew, and he used my decision to attend Cedarville College to put me in the right spot and train me with a biblical view to apply during my career in politics.”
