American violinist Lindsay Deutsch will present a violin masterclass at Cedarville University in the Dixon Ministry Center Recital Hall on Friday, Feb. 21. The free class begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the public.
Deutsch began her solo orchestral career at the age of 11 with the Clear Lake Symphony in Texas. Deutsch has performed all over the U.S. and Canada with such symphonies as the Canton Youth Symphony in Ohio, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, California Philharmonic, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, Knoxville Symphony, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, New West Symphony, McGill Chamber Orchestra in Montreal, National Academy Orchestra, and Oakville Symphony in Ontario, Canada.
Deutsch is presently touring as a solo violinist with Greek composer, Yanni, and recently finished tours with him throughout North America, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia and Egypt.

When Deutsch is not on tour with Yanni, she tours the country with her trio, TAKE3. This group has gained national attention with its unique blending of classical music with a rock-and-roll feel.
In addition to this, Deutsch is actively involved in outreach programs such as "Classics Alive" to present classical music to young audiences. She is passionate about young people being exposed to classical music at a young age.
Carlos Elias, professor of music at Cedarville University, is excited to bring such a versatile violin player with an extensive background in different styles of music to Cedarville.
“Even though my violin students receive a private lesson with me every week, it is good to receive feedback from a different teacher,” said Carlos. “The class is open to the public because I believe that all musicians can learn from each other.”
