Tips for a Smooth College Drop-Off

Thursday, August 18, 2022

Students moving into dormFrom one parent to another … dropping your child off at college is hard (especially if it’s your first time!). As you prepare to bring your student to Cedarville to begin his or her college career, please be assured of two things:

  • Your son or daughter rests securely in God’s hand. He has great plans for them (Jer. 29:11) and will never leave them alone (Heb. 13:5).
  • Cedarville University will do everything we can to love and support your child — personally, academically, and spiritually. We are so honored that you have entrusted your child to us, and we take that responsibility very seriously.

Read today's post for tips for a successful drop-off. Don't worry, Mom and Dad, you've got this!

Jeff Beste
Director of Strategic Relations (and a Cedarville dad!)

P.S. When you come to campus in a few days, be sure to stop by the Parent Zone outside the chapel. We would love to meet you and welcome you to Cedarville!

If you will be sending packages to campus before your student arrives, please note the following requests from Postal Services:

  • Plan to ship items for an August 1 or later arrival date
  • For returning students, use your student's complete name — including full middle name — and campus box number on all items
  • For freshmen or transferring students, use your student's complete name — including full middle name — and include "New Student" on all items

Thank you for helping the post office stay organized at this busy time of year.

M.A. in Innovation Added to Graduate Slate

Tuesday, February 15, 2022

Cedarville University is excited to announce a new M.A. in innovation degree, the first of its kind at an evangelical Christian university. This is another example of how Cedarville continues to add in-demand programs that prepare its students well for the future.

And, it addresses the #1 skill employers are seeking: creative problem-solving!

In the fully online M.A. in innovation, students will gain knowledge and practical hands-on skills to lead the way in enacting real change through creative ideas. You’ll learn to think outside the box to find real solutions to consumer and organizational problems. As followers of the Master Creator, we think Christians should be the most creative problem-solvers on the planet!

If this program interests your student, they can start coursework as part of their undergraduate electives without adding any extra cost to their block tuition. And, as with most of our graduate programs, as a parent of  a current student, you can enroll in this program and receive a 15% parent discount scholarship.

Learn more about the M.A. in innovation online. We'd love to have you join you us as a Cedarville graduate student!

Announcing New Placement Rates

Thursday, January 20, 2022

smiling graduatesYou’ve heard us talk a lot about the quality of a Cedarville education. We're excited to share new information that affirms the results of our efforts and the caliber of our students and alumni.

In a recent survey of our 2021 graduates, we found that an amazing 98.4% of the graduating class was either employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation, even in the middle of a global pandemic! Those are among the very best placement rates you will find and is well above national averages for colleges and universities. Employers seek out Cedarville graduates for their academic preparation, work ethic, and character. Our students are well-prepared to enter the workforce upon graduation.

And, not only are our graduates prepared to obtain good jobs in desirable career fields, they are being equipped to serve God and share the message of the Gospel wherever He leads them. That’s what truly sets Cedarville apart.

P.S. Our Career Services office is one of the big reasons for our graduates' placement success. Career Services offers career fairs each year with hundreds of companies and graduate schools on campus to help students connect with potential employers and build a professional network. The Career Services office also supports students with resume preparation, interview training, internship placements, career interest surveys, advising on choice of major, and much more!

And, as we look to the new year, you can be confident that, by God's grace, we will continue to stand for the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ. We will remain resolute in pursuing our mission to transform lives through excellent academics and intentional discipleship in submission to biblical authority.
