Students Spend Spring Break Serving
Spring break is spent many ways for students at Cedarville University. Some will travel home, while others vacation with friends. But for 230 students, they will be using their spring break to serve in various locations worldwide.

All of the mission trips are coordinated through Cedarville University’s global outreach outreach department. In celebration of global outreach's 50th anniversary, $50,000 will help support students on teams thanks to years of generous donor contributions.
Students will be traveling to key urban locations in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, and Salt Lake City, Utah. International trips are scheduled for Mexico, Peru, London, England, Malawi, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.
This year, Cedarville celebrated 50 years of the global outreach department sending students, faculty and on short-term mission trips. “Global outreach is here to locate, prepare and send students as well as faculty and staff across the street or around the world to share the gospel,” said Brian Nester, director for global outreach.
Students are highly encouraged to participate in a global outreach trip during their four years at Cedarville University. “We go on these trips because Christ says to go,” said Nester. “These trips are biblically based, gospel focused and we want to do what we can to encourage and build up the local church.”
“I appreciate how convenient global outreach makes it for students to go on these trips,” said Maria Smith, a junior from West Lafayette, Indiana, who is a student leader for the London trip. “My mission trip last year impacted me by making me more passionate about evangelism and it has increased my desire to live for God and share Jesus in my everyday life.”
Students have spent months leading up to spring break preparing for their trip through all team trainings and individual group trainings. Trips vary from medical missions, church planting, evangelism and children’s ministry opportunities.
