How Has the Coronavirus Impacted Our World? Ask the Experts
Infectious disease experts, a licensed clinical counselor, and student learning professionals will be featured during weekly online Town Hall events on Facebook and Cedarville's COVID-19 blog.
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented epic challenges to national leaders, public health officials and to the general public. When will a test be available? How long will schools be limited to online classes? How do I deal with the isolation of limiting contact with friends and family?
With this overwhelming list of concerns, the average person is facing way more than the physical trials of trying to stay healthy. COVID-19 has presented mental, emotional, relational and spiritual challenges that many never expected.
In order to offer counsel, comfort, insight and support, Cedarville University faculty and professional staff are offering online Town Hall forums to better understand the comprehensive impact of the coronavirus in our lives. Subject matter will include the latest news on the coronavirus from infectious disease expert Dr. Zach Jenkins, associate professor of pharmacy practice, to tips for handling the mental and emotional stresses from Betsy Linnell, licensed professional clinical counselor and assistant professor of psychology.
Future content may include a discussion of the pandemic’s influence on this year’s presidential election, its impact on the economy, and its effect on the job market.
Each Town Hall will livestream on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. on Cedarville’s Facebook page and the COVID-19 Updates Blog beginning March 25 and continuing through June 3.

March 25 – “Coronavirus Updates and Progress,” Infectious disease experts Dr. Zach Jenkins and Dr. David Peters, assistant professor of pharmacy practice.
April 1 – “Advice and Encouragement for Online Learners,” Kim Ahlgrim, director of The Cove academic enrichment center, and Deidre Sizer, tutoring coordinator at The Cove.
April 8 – “Coping with Uncertainty,” Betsy Linnell, licensed professional clinical counselor and assistant professor of psychology.
