Cedarville University EMS
Providing Holistic Pre-Hospital Care
Cedarville University Emergency Medical Services is a volunteer ambulance service run entirely by students from Cedarville University. As an EMS provider, CUEMS responds to all medical and traumatic emergencies on the University campus as well as being available to the surrounding community if needed.
CUEMS is a Basic Life Support (BLS) provider. Along with the surrounding fire departments and EMS services, CUEMS functions under the Greene County medical directors, and is dispatched through the Green County 911. CUEMS is also a member of the National Collegiate EMS Foundation.
Providing Opportunities for Team Members
All members of CUEMS are state-certified emergency medical technicians trained at the basic, intermediate, or paramedic level. A complete roster consists of 15 members, male and female, from a variety of majors. Being a member of CUEMS is a great way to gain responsibility, maturity, and experience in the healthcare field.
Cedarville University EMS was the first collegiate emergency medical service in the nation. CUEMS has been providing emergency services to the University and community since 1965.
Providing Ministry for Patients
CUEMS has a unique ministry to the Cedarville University campus. Not only does CUEMS treat medical and traumatic problems, but also provides holistic, compassionate care for all patients. CUEMS team members pray for patients at weekly meetings and are concerned with the physical and spiritual well-being of each patient. Members strive to show the love of Christ to both the University family and surrounding community.
