Accreditation, Approval, and Institutional Authorization

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs at Cedarville University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) (https://www.aacnnursing.org/ccne-accreditation) and have full approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN).

Cedarville University is authorized by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) and is institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Licensure Information

Cedarville University’s nursing programs meet the educational prerequisites for professional licensure within the state of Ohio.

Prospective students should be aware that each state and U.S. territory may have different professional licensure requirements governing nursing occupations. If you plan to practice, reside, or seek licensure in a state or territory other than Ohio, it is crucial to verify whether the program meets the specific educational requirements for licensure in that location.

Students pursuing the BSN program should consult their Cedarville University academic or program advisor regarding licensure requirements in their state or territory. Students pursuing the MSN or DNP programs should contact the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs at Cedarville University regarding the rules and regulations pertaining to licensure and clinical supervision in their state or territory before beginning the program.

Students are ultimately responsible for verifying their individual eligibility for state licensure and for satisfying any academic and professional requirements imposed by that state or territory. While a program may initially meet the educational requirements for licensure, changes made by a state or territory could impact the program’s ability to meet new requirements.

Students are strongly encouraged to check with their state licensure board to confirm licensure requirements and to obtain additional guidance as needed from that board and their Cedarville University advisor or the Director of Graduate Nursing Programs.
