myCU

This is the hub of your online involvement. myCU is where you can view your personal information, such as your schedule, grades, transcript, financial account, and other useful pieces of information.

Login Name/Password

Access to myCU requires a login. Your password is the password you set when you applied. If you don’t remember your login or password, please contact the help desk in Information Technology at 937-766-7905, and the attendant will guide you in resetting your password.

Canvas

Online courses use a web-based delivery system called Canvas. Log in to Canvas using your Cedarville username and password at cedarville.edu/canvas. Official and current course syllabi will be available in Canvas one week before the course start date. Your professor can answer specific questions about a course or provide navigation instructions for the course.

You can expect to receive a welcome email from your professor close to the beginning of class. Please watch your Cedarville email account for this communication. It will likely contain important information for a successful start to your course.

Personal Technology

Information Technology (IT) provides basic requirements for student computers, whether a student is on campus or online.

Student Email Account

Email is one of the most crucial forms of communication at Cedarville University, especially for your professors. Beginning one week prior to the start of class, you should begin checking your Cedarville email account DAILY and check it every day until class ends. To access your email account, use the same login and password that you use for myCU. All official email correspondence from the University will be sent to this account. Your professor and class peers will also expect you to check your email frequently.

Syllabus

It is your responsibility to read through the syllabus for the class. The syllabus is the professor’s outline of the course and will include project due dates and exam dates.

Textbooks

Students can find textbook information or may purchase textbooks through the Campus Store. On the Campus Store site, click on the "order textbook" icon or the word "textbooks" at the top of the screen. Then select the "View your course schedule and textbook requirements" link. You will need to log in with your username and password to see your schedule. Select the textbook link next to each course to view your textbook information.

You may pay your student account balance using any of the following options:

• Online using the Student Finance system
• E-check: checking accounts only; no fee (not available directly from 529 accounts)
• Major credit or debit card (2.7% convenience fee; minimum payment of $1)
• Wire transfer (Flywire is available to banks and financial services firms to make 529 payments. Please check with your 529 provider to see if they offer Flywire.)
• Phone (credit/debit card payments only)

Mailing a Check

If you choose to pay by mailing any type of check including from a 529 account, please make the check payable to Cedarville University, include the student name and student ID on the memo line of the check. Send your payment to:

One week before your course begins:

1. Verify your CU Learn (Canvas) access by logging in to CU Learn (Canvas).
2. After logging in to CU Learn (Canvas), complete or review the Getting Started in CU Learn (Canvas): Orientation for Students course.

The day your course begins:

1. Access your Google Mail account and read the welcome email from your course professor.
2. Access CU Learn (Canvas) and select your course from the course list.
3. After selecting your course, access the course website and review the following: course syllabus (near the top of the page) and assignments (on the assignment tab in the syllabus).
4. Complete any assigned introductory activities.

Explore Centennial Library student resources and access CU Discover. Students can find their library ID number via myCU.

All Cedarville students visiting Cedarville's Centennial Library on campus or OhioLink member libraries must present their Cedarville student ID card to check out resources from the library. Students who access only online resources from Centennial Library or the OhioLink system only need their library ID number, which can be found in myCU.
