A Patient is a Person No Matter How Small — 10/14/2026 10:00 AM
Today's speaker is Dr. William Lile, board-certified obstetrician, gynecologist, and founder of ProLifeDoc.org. Dr. Lile is a champion for the unborn, and describes a number of surgeries that have been done to save the lives of babies while they are still in the womb.
Notes
This morning in chapel, Dr. William Lile, founder of ProLifeDoc.org, shared stories from his work saving unborn babies and sharing why they have the right to live just like everyone else. God says to His prophet in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
A Patient Is a Person, No Matter How Small
All 50 states in America have laws protecting the rights of patients. No matter how small, all patients should have rights — even before they are born. Lile and his team are now diagnosing, treating, and curing babies before they leave the womb. They do brain surgery, heart surgery, blood transfusions, and more. After the surgery, they close up the womb and deliver healthy babies months later at full term.
During these procedures, two patients with beating hearts come into the room, and two heartbeats also leave the room. During an abortion procedure, two heartbeats enter, but only one leaves. If we are losing the heartbeats of half of our patients, that is not healthcare.
Lile shared one story of a mom with identical twin girls. The first was born very early and spent a while in the NICU, while the second was able to stay in the womb until full term. Even though they were exactly the same age, the baby in the NICU had a right to live during this time, while her twin sister could have been legally killed through abortion. This is concerning. Why would being inside or outside the womb determine whether a baby is a person with rights?
In His Image
Genesis 1:26 declares that God created life and designed us in His own image. Reflecting His image begins at the moment of conception.
The American flag is the image that represents the United States, so people burn and destroy it when they hate the country it represents. This also applies to babies in the womb. People hate God, so they destroy the babies who are the image that reflects Him.
Abortion is not a political battle; it is a spiritual battle. It has taken 64 million lives. This is evil in the sight of the Lord.
The Gospel Is Key
The Gospel is the key to ending the problem of abortion. This is what will change minds and behavior. Of people in most church congregations, 18–24 percent have been personally involved in an abortion, and they are hurting and in need of healing. Healing comes from forgiveness, and true forgiveness only comes through the blood of Jesus.
The body of Christ will function the way He designed it to function when we save the lives of the preborn. Put your faith into action and use every day to advance God’s Kingdom!
