God's Protection of a Prisoner of War — 5/26/1998 12:00 AM
Capt. Louis Zamperini was a gold medalist runner in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. While serving in World War 2, he was shot down over the Pacific Ocean, drifted for 47 days in a raft, was captured by the Japanese, and held as a prisoner of war for about 2 1/2 years. He was saved at a Billy Graham crusade after his return and after a bout of alcoholism.
