My Bicycle Accident Testimony — 10/30/2024 10:00 AM

Today's speaker is George Huff, Senior Professor of Social Work at Cedarville University. Professor Huff shares his story of being involved in a tragic bicycle accident 10 years ago, and his long road to recovery. He recognizes that God ordained the accident, gives Him glory through it all, and challenges us to give thanks even for the hardships in our lives.

Notes

Professor George Huff led chapel as today’s guest speaker. Professor Huff worked as a social worker for 25 years, assessing families for abuse and neglect as well as managing adoption, foster care, and volunteer services. Prior to coming to Cedarville, he was an adjunct faculty member for Ashland University and North Central State College. He is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervision designation (LISW-S) in the state of Ohio. He has provided agency clinical supervision and supervises individuals interested in becoming licensed at the graduate level. Professor Huff has published in the areas of integration, faith, and practice. He enjoys mentoring men and conducting premarital counseling.

In chapel, he gave his testimony about getting hit by a truck. Despite how much he went through, he still gives glory to the Lord. He encouraged the chapel to praise the Lord no matter what they were going through. God will use all things for your good and His glory.

A passage of scripture that Huff gave to inspire the chapel was 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18, which states, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

No matter what life may throw at you, praise the Lord and know that He is working things out for your good. In other words, if life throws a truck at you, praise the Lord!
