Masterworks All-American Concert

The Department of Music and Worship will present a Masterworks All-American Concert on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 7 p.m. in the James T. Jeremiah Chapel in the Dixon Ministry Center. The program will feature the Cedarville University Symphony Orchestra and the Wind Symphony.

The Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Carlos Elias, will perform Charles Ives's “Symphony No. 3, Camp Meeting" and one of the most iconic pieces of the American repertoire, “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin, featuring Argentinian pianist Andrea Arese-Elias.

The Cedarville University Wind Symphony, under the direction of Chet Jenkins, will take the stage to perform another staple of the American repertoire, the “Symphonic Dances” from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein. The concert will conclude with James Stephenson's “Symphony No. 2, Voices," which was originally written for The President's Own Marine Corp Band. Come and enjoy these American masterpieces!
