Sexual Assault Awareness Month | Myth #4

Myth #4: Someone who has been sexually assaulted will appear battered and bruised and act hysterical.

Opposite of this, many victims of sexual assault are not visibly injured, and everyone responds differently to trauma. People react to a crisis in different ways. The reaction may range from composure to anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and suicidal feelings.

As a University, we want to encourage you to be slow to speak and quick to listen, believing when someone shares their story. Please consider initiating conversations with those around you and educating yourself through the resources at cedarville.edu/SpeakUp. Thank you for striving to show love for God and others and pursue integrity and excellence by encouraging one another to Speak Up.
