This lecture walks through a practical theological method—eight steps from reading and collecting biblical texts to arranging and prioritizing doctrine—and introduces apologetics as the reasoned defense of the gospel. You’ll learn why theology matters for everyday life and leadership, how the drama of Scripture produces doctrine that fuels worship and discipleship, and why every Christian is a theologian (the question is whether we are faithful theologians). The professor explains theological triage (first-, second-, and third-order doctrines), offers real-world evangelism examples, and surveys four apologetic approaches: classical (arguing toward God), evidential (pointing to external proofs), cumulative case (weighing evidence across disciplines), and presuppositional (arguing from God’s truth). Practical topics include how theology shapes ethics, technology habits, rest, and spiritual growth, plus guidance for answering common objections (suffering, truth claims, resurrection, creation).
