This lecture-style presentation explores foundational theological concepts you’ll study at Cedarville — truth, epistemology, worldview, the kingdom storyline, covenants, and the divisions of theology — all taught to form your thinking, affections, and practice. You’ll see classroom exercises (summarizing the Bible in 10–12 words), practical evangelistic conversations modeled for everyday encounters, and an emphasis on integrating theology with every vocation so you become a theologically minded professional. 📖
What you’ll learn in this class
The video covers theories of truth — correspondence, coherence, pragmatic — and why epistemology matters for knowing God. It reviews the kingdom acrostic (kickoff, Israel, land, departure, overthrow, mission) and a six-act summary (creation, fall, Israel, redemption, church, new creation). You’ll be introduced to prolegomena, presuppositions, worldviews, and how biblical ethics shapes cultural engagement. Key theological disciplines are explained — exegesis, biblical theology, hermeneutics, historical theology, and systematic theology — along with core doctrines: bibliology, theology proper, anthropology, hamartiology, Christology, soteriology, pneumatology, ecclesiology, and eschatology. The instructor stresses that theology is disciplined reflection on God’s self-revelation aimed at knowing God, loving God, and being on mission for God. 🎓
