One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

Just in time for dropping temperatures, Cedarville University’s a capella group, The Inversions, will be performing its first Christmas-themed concert November 11-12. The Inversions performing in the Cedarville Opera House

The Inversions are set to perform its annual fall concert at the Cedarville Opera House located on North Main Street in downtown Cedarville on Friday, November 11, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 12, at 7 p.m. The group will also be performing a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12.

This year’s theme was chosen by The Inversions’ director Spencer Reynolds.

The Inversions, a student-run group founded in 2011 by Jeremy Witt, a 2015 graduate, currently has 17 members from a wide array of majors.

“Of the group, only two are music majors and three are worship,” said Elodie Rowley, a junior allied health major from Springfield, Illinois and the current marketing director for the group. “The Inversions is a unique opportunity for people to use their talents.”

For their annual fall performance, the group chose to perform an entirely Christmas-themed show for the first time since the group’s founding.

“We always try to mix worship and Christmas and secular pop music together through a central theme,” said Rowley. “So although our show is Christmas themed, there are a few surprise arrangements, including ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars.”

“The group is tight-knit, and I have loved every performance I have done while at Cedarville, but I am the most excited about this upcoming show!” said Rowley. “I had done performances with my high school, but there is a huge difference in singing with 16 other believers who are also close friends. It changes it from simply remembering intricate choreography and harmonies to worshipping—it is truly the coolest thing!”

Tickets are $7 for the 7 p.m. performances and $5 for the matinee and will be on sale in the lower level of the Stevens Student Center on campus from November 7-11 and through Instagram beginning October 24.
