One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

by Cara Groves, Student Public Relations Writer

While Cedarville University is currently in the midst of a comprehensive $175 million fundraising campaign, it recently celebrated raising $594,654 from its annual Giving Tuesday initiative that took place on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The money raised from the initiative will go toward Cedarville’s $175 million campaign, “One Thousand Days Transformed.”

Cedarville’s bold campaign, publicly launched in October of 2021, focuses on four key areas that will help transform students’ lives for eternity: expanding capacity to welcome and house new students, minimizing student debt and maximizing affordability, transforming lives in and out of the classroom and providing for the sustainable future.

The money raised on Giving Tuesday came from 403 donors — 206 of which were parents of Cedarville students — and represents a 24% increase from last year’s initiative. The donors reside in 39 states.

“The support shown for Giving Tuesday this year was incredible,” said Stephen Schindler, executive director of development at Cedarville University. “We give thanks to the Lord for the alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends who gave graciously to Cedarville University on this day.”

One anonymous donor gave their first-ever gift to Cedarville University — a $130,000 contribution. Also, another donor pledged a $100,000 gift if 100 people would give during the university’s daily chapel service, which takes place daily between 10-11 a.m. The pledge was honored, as 120 people contributed to the campaign during the hour.

Of the gifts received, 86 came from first-time donors, 214 from alumni and 172 from faculty and staff members — all record-breaking numbers.

Located in southwest Ohio, Cedarville University is a Baptist university with undergraduate programs in arts, sciences, and professional programs, and graduate programs. With an enrollment of 5,456 students in 175 areas of study, Cedarville is one of the largest private universities in Ohio and is recognized nationally for its authentic Christian community, rigorous academic programs, and high graduation and retention rates.
