One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

by Mark D. Weinstein, Executive Director of Public Relations

Cedarville University raised $506,200 during Tuesday’s Giving Tuesday campaign, with supporters sponsoring 590 of the students’ 1000 Days at Cedarville. The annual day of generosity once again rallied alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends to invest in the transformative Cedarville student experience.

Record-Breaking Support for Cedarville’s 1,000 Days Fund

"We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming generosity shown on Giving Tuesday. Each gift to the 1000 Days Fund directly enriches the Cedarville experience and strengthens our commitment to equipping students spiritually, academically and professionally," said Dr. Will Smallwood, vice president for advancement. "Seeing our community come together to sponsor 590 student days is a powerful reminder of what God can do through the faithful support of friends who believe in Cedarville’s mission."

Global Giving Movement Fuels Campus Transformation

Giving Tuesday, launched in 2012, has become a global movement encouraging charitable giving following Thanksgiving weekend. Each year, nonprofits and educational institutions worldwide benefit from this focused outpouring of support.

Enhancing the Student Experience Through the 1,000 Days Fund

Cedarville joined that momentum last year by introducing the 1000 Days Fund, an unrestricted giving initiative designed to enhance the student experience during the approximately 1000 Days most students spend on campus. Formerly known as the Cedarville Fund, the initiative directs gifts to the university’s areas of greatest need, allowing the university to respond quickly and effectively. Funds support scholarships, campus improvements and student programs, with every dollar used during the academic year it is given.

Key Projects Funded by Donor Contributions

In its inaugural year, the 1000 Days Fund received contributions that funded four key projects: the God Provides Scholarship, residence hall upgrades, intramural field improvements and dining hall renovations.

This year’s strong response reflects continued enthusiasm for the fund’s mission. Cedarville is grateful for the generosity that is shaping students’ lives and strengthening the campus community through their 1000 Days.
