Faculty/Staff - Chapel excuses for Students
Chapel Guidelines for Faculty/Staff
Faculty/Staff policies regarding chapel excuses for students:
- Fac/Staff may request in advance for students to be excused from attending chapel for academic and athletic obligations (practices are not excused), including clinicals, student teaching, internships, athletic participation, field trips, and work.
- Faculty/advisee/student meetings, labs, or tests are not excused chapel absences.
- Having students in a 9 a.m. class remain in class during chapel will not be excused.
- University Related Absences: Absences for student teaching, clinicals, field experience, or any other University-sponsored event must be submitted by a professor, staff, or coach.
- To have an entire class section excused from chapel for one or multiple days, the faculty/staff member must complete the Special Arrangement request.
- Faculty and staff can complete the Chapel Special Arrangement Request (Faculty/Staff) task in myCU.
- Students are responsible for submitting work-related (on or off-campus) special arrangement requests using the Chapel Special Arrangement Request (Student) task in myCU. On-campus employment supervisors must approve work-related student submissions.
