Faculty Recital: Dr. Chet Jenkins

March 26, 2024 from 8:00 p.m.

Dr. Chet Jenkins will perform three French works, that explore a variety of early standards for the classical saxophonist, including the beautiful impressionistic work Légende, Op. 66 by composer Florent Schmitt. Along with the standard French repertoire, we will take a quick trip across the Channel to explore the music of British composer, Mark-Anthony Turnage, with his work Two Elegies Framing a Shout written for soprano saxophone. Dr. Jenkins will be collaborating with pianist Stephen Estep, who has accompanied him for 29 years.
