Candidates are sought with expertise in the areas of solid modeling, mechanics, mechanical design, and vibrations.  Highly qualified candidates whose expertise lies in other areas of mechanical engineering may also be considered.
 
Qualifications for this faculty position include a doctorate in mechanical engineering or related discipline, and a proven record of teaching.  A working knowledge of computational software such as Solid Works, Abaqus, and Matlab is considered essential for the position.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in a variety of mechanical engineering areas and advise senior design projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Provide prospect research, suspect identification and assignment, activity tracking and metrics, and data analytics support to the annual, major, and principal gift staff and University programs. 
  • Working with the AVP, assign qualified prospects to gift officers. 
  • Utilize effectively prospect research, prospect management, and analytics strategies to effectively manage and motivate research analysts in proactive and reactive research.
  • Generate  ongoing qualified prospects through predictive data modeling, verified wealth screening, and other sources.
  • Manage all University grant proposal activity, establishing campus-wide guidelines for processing and approving applications and serve as Advancement’s support liaison for the Academic division.
  • Insure that all campus wide grant activity, documentation, and calendars submitted from any University department are maintained in the Advancement database (The Raiser’s Edge) are available for review, editing, approval, through final result.
  • Maintain a current inventory of University publications, standard descriptive paragraphs, and organizational documentation for use with repetitive grant submittals to provide accuracy, consistency and to reduce time required to complete. 
  • Assess current central donor filing system (internal shared drive); establish and maintain protocols aligned with Cedarville University IT
  • Manage all research-based contracts and vendor relations. Coordinate with the Business Office and relevant Advancement staff to maintain current accounts, coordinate contract negotiations.
  • Research and recommend new data mining tools. Coordinate closely with the Director of Advancement Services regarding services related to The Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate all processes and policies concerning: privacy and ethics in prospect development; performance metrics for prospect development activities; monthly, quarterly, yearly, and campaign goals for prospect identification; quality control protocols for recording development officer activities in the database.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of donor and internal organizational information at all times.
  • Hire new staff and mentor individual team members to maximize collective performance. Provide fair and consistent feedback through individual meetings and annual performance reviews.
  • Work closely with the AVP to manage the prospect development budget. Set priorities for annual budget allocation. Maintain responsibility and approval for all expenditures related to prospect development.
  • Advocate the value of training and professional development in increasing staff productivity, accuracy or other improvements.

Staff: Information Technology - Colleague Administrator/Developer

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Colleague Administrator/Developer in the Information Technology Department.  The primary role of this position is to manage the databases and systems that comprise and support the Colleague enterprise information system.  This is an exempt, full-time position that reports to the Assistant Chief Information Officer. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Perform database administration activities including monitoring, performance tuning, SQL tuning, database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data replication and database refresh of the SQL databases underlying the Colleague ERP system
  • Coordinate and implement upgrades to Colleague’s databases and applications
  • Work with vendor support centers for solutions to issues and problems
  • Manage user accounts within the Colleague ERP system, assigning the appropriate access and user level security
  • Develop and enforce security guidelines for production database access
  • Develop and test plans for complete disaster recovery lifecycle
  • Maintain development, test, and production environments
  • Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems related to database management and support
  • Manage Microsoft Internet Information Services and Apache HTTP Server based web servers needed to support the Colleague ERP system
  • Develop and maintain applications and reports based within the Colleague ERP systems
  • Develop and maintain web-based, including REST client and server, applications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of experience managing Linux and Windows based servers
  • Three years of experience configuring and managing Unidata and/or SQLServer databases
  • Working knowledge of software development processes and procedures
  • Experience with a version control system with continuous integration such as GitLab
  • Experience programming web based applications using C#, HTML, CSS, etc.
  • Experience writing scripts and automation using languages such as PHP, Python, Bash, Powershell, etc.
  • Understanding and usage of REST APIs
  • Skills that apply to working professionally with a variety of people in a variety of work settings

Staff: Physical Plant - Groundskeeper

Groundskeeper 

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Groundskeeper to perform skilled horticultural/landscape maintenance tasks.  This is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Manager of University Grounds. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Responsible for all landscape construction projects.
  • Installs drainage systems, parking lots, and roadways.
  • Transports and operates equipment such as skid steers, excavators, backhoes, rollers, dump truck, and any other equipment necessary.
  • Hauls aggregates and soil
  • Maintains landscaped areas
  • Plants and cultivates trees, grass, flowers and shrubs
  • Sprays for control of pests and plant diseases. Mixes and applies herbicides, fertilizers and other chemicals to grass, shrubs, trees and roadside right-of-way.
  • Prepares soils for various kinds of plantings
  • Mows, rakes, weeds, sows, and waters lawns and plants.
  • Trims and prunes trees and shrubs.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Snow removal of roads, parking lots, sidewalks and wherever deemed necessary when needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commercial Applicator Pesticide License preferred, not required.  Willing to work to complete requirements is required if you do not have license already.
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred, but not required.
  • Prior experience on grounds equipment required.  Training procedure required on all equipment and vehicles. Complete list of equipment and training approval on file
  • Skill in planting, cultivating, and maintaining trees, shrubs, and lawns
  • Skill in working with materials 

REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES: 

  • Sufficient physical ability to do heavy manual labor such as the installation of lawns and shoveling of snow, occasionally lifting 80 lb. bags, and pushing, pulling or dragging items of up to 150 lbs.
  • Ability to work on uneven surfaces and in all kinds of weather conditions with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, chemicals, or hazardous conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with faculty, staff & students in writing, on the telephone,  email, radio and in person.
  • Self-directed and possess a sincere desire to excel in performance of duties.
  • Possess a valid Ohio driver license.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS: 

  1. Routine discomforts such as moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness, or noise.
  2. Routine exposure to light chemical substances and occasional exposure to hazardous conditions
