Position Description:

The Department of Music and Worship invites applications for dynamic and creative vocal and instrumental private lesson instructors. 

Positions are subject to Cedarville University policies, verification of credentials and other information required by law. Position Requirements:

  • Master’s degree preferred, in a field related to the job responsibilities
  • Five years of private studio teaching preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent musicianship
  • Record of successful college-level teaching

Regional Director for Institutional Relations · Advancement

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Regional Director of Development to develop long term relationships built on a firm understanding of each donor’s interest, passions and values for the purpose of soliciting gifts for annual, capital and endowment needs. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Associate Vice President for Philanthropic Partnerships.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with an assigned portfolio of approximately 150 to 175 donor prospects
  • Participate in all aspects of the gifts cycle including the identification of major gift prospects
  • Qualify major gift prospects through personal contact and visits
  • Draw prospects into a strong relationship with the University by connecting with their philanthropic interest
  • Create and implement short term, intermediate and long term solicitation plans for all primary donor assignments
  • Maintain stewardship contacts with donors to enhance giving satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with University staff, faculty and leadership to cultivate and steward donor relationships
  • Identify and facilitate strategic opportunities for prospects to interact with University leaders
  • Represent the University at donor, community and alumni events as necessary
  • Document activity according to departmental standards
  • Participate in quarterly dynamic portfolio review
  • Maintain consistent office presence in between travel for the purpose of building community and facilitating effective communication

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Cedarville University graduate preferred

  • Possess three to five years of successful experience in gifts acquisition
  • Possess an ability to work independently while collaborating with other development team members

Young Alumni & Student Philanthropy Coordinator · Advancement 

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Young Alumni and Student Philanthropy Coordinator to develop and implement a donor attraction and retention strategy for young alumni giving. This position will also focus on educating current students on the importance of giving to the University. This is a full-time, twelve month, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive young alumni giving program keeping alumni engaged with Cedarville while also identifying those who would like to give
  • Manage the 5 year and 10 year reunion gifts for the current and upcoming fiscal years including the recruitment and training of volunteers and the creation of all mass marketing materials
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and quality of all student and young alumni fundraising initiatives including current program analysis, benchmarking and research
  • Develop and implement a student philanthropy program to broadly educate Cedarville students about philanthropy and to specifically engage student interest in giving to Cedarville as alumni
  • Collaborate with other departments on campus to promote student and young alumni fundraising programs
  • Maintain and develop a portfolio with at least 20 current seniors each year
  • Cultivate and acquire 10-15 young alumni as Cedarville Society member donors
  • Assist in advising the alumni student organization Delta Alpha Epsilon (DAE)

Position Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education; Cedarville graduate highly preferred
  • Possess an understanding of the entire development enterprise; preferably within an academic setting
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven customer-service experience
  • Proficient computer usage including Microsoft Office, email, and internet navigating tools
  • Ability to articulate the distinction of Cedarville University and inspire confidence in donors
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel as needed (up to 6 weeks per year)
  • Ability to manage complex tasks simultaneously, coordinate the roles of various participants in projects, set priorities, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
