The Cedarville University Department of Art, Design and Theatre seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track teaching position in theatre costume and makeup design housed within the University Theatre program, beginning August 2016. This position involves teaching undergraduate costume and makeup design with additionalresponsibilities to include: creating costuming and makeup design for main stage productions; managing and supervising costumes and makeup for mainstage productions; supervising students; and managing and maintaining the University costume collection.

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Parent and Volunteer Program Coordinator to be responsible to develop a parent program to acquire and retain donations from current and alumni parents. This position will oversee the implementation of an alumni volunteer program to increase alumni engagement at various University events. This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain current parent and alumni parent fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments across campus to promote parent fundraising programs.
  • Serve as the CU off campus event expert by assisting in the conceptualization, development, planning, executing and evaluation of off-campus alumni and friends.
  • Assist in advising the alumni student organization Delta Alpha Epsilon (DAE).
  • Implement and organize an alumni volunteer program which involves getting alumni to be involved in recruiting, engaging and fundraising for the university.
  • Manage the 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 year reunion gifts for the current and upcoming fiscal years which include the recruitment and training of volunteers and the creation of all mass marketing materials.
  • Cultivate and acquire 10-15 current parents as Cedarville Society member donors.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of experience and education required.  Preferred fields of study include business, communications, management, or marketing.  Cedarville graduate preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information, evaluation options and implement effective action steps to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to manage complex tasks simultaneously, coordinate the roles of various participants in projects, set priorities and schedules, and meet deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to facilitate mutual understanding and work effectively with a wide variety of people including: faculty, administrative staff, development colleagues, donors, students, alumni, and friends of the university.
  • Possess an understanding of the development enterprise; particularly within an academic setting
  • Proficient in computer use including e-mail, Windows, Word, Excel, and Internet navigation tools
  • Ability to articulate the distinction of a CU educational experience and inspire confidence in donors.  
  • Ability to assist disabled donors into and out of vehicles and on campus tours. 
  • Proven customer-service focus with an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to climb stairs and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Preventative Maintenance Technician · Physical Plant Mechanicals

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Preventative Maintenance Technician to perform the duties that are required by the preventative maintenance program as it relates to HVAC, plumbing and ventilation equipment. Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as specified by the Preventative Maintenance program including replacing filters, light bulbs, etc.

  • Assist HVAC technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as directed

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with tools associated with HVAC work such as appropriate gauges and meters
  • Mechanical aptitude to diagnose and resolve equipment problems
  • Possess general knowledge of power and hand operated tools used in performing work detailed above
  • Possess the analytical ability to interpret data and adapt to standard methods to fit various existing conditions
  • Possess basic understanding of electric and hydraulic systems
