The Cedarville University School of Business Administration seeks faculty applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Management Science. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Management Science will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, providing support for the Master of Business Administration program.  The program will require a normal 4/4 teaching load.  
 
A Ph.D. in Management Science, Operations Management, Information Systems, Statistics, or Business Analytics is required.  Ideal candidates will also possess proven college/university teaching experience or show strong promise in teaching in one or more applicable fields. Practical industry experience is highly desirable and valued. The Cedarville University School of Education seeks faculty applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Education. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Education will instruct twenty-four semester credit hours of undergraduate and graduate courses, or the equivalent, each academic year in a variety of areas including both specialty and education core courses.

Position Description:
The Cedarville University School of Engineering and Computer Science seeks faculty applicants in mechanical engineering.This is a tenure-track eligible faculty position. Applications at the Assistant or Associate Professor level are preferred, although strong candidates may be considered for appointment at the Professor level.
 
Candidates are sought with expertise in the areas of solid modeling, mechanics, mechanical design, and vibrations.  Highly qualified candidates whose expertise lies in other areas of mechanical engineering may also be considered.
 
Qualifications for this faculty position include a doctorate in mechanical engineering or related discipline, and a proven record of teaching.  A working knowledge of computational software such as Solid Works, Abaqus, and Matlab is considered essential for the position.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses and laboratories in a variety of mechanical engineering areas and advise senior design projects.
 
The School of Engineering and Computer Science is housed in a modern facility with extensive state-of-the-art laboratories and offers ABET-accredited BSCpE, BSEE, BSME, and BS degree in Computer Science as well as a newly-started BSCE degree program.

Cedarville University is seeking a STEM/Business Librarian.  This position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position within the University’s Centennial Library reporting to the Director of Library Public Services.  Possessing a STEM or business education along with a library degree, the STEM/Business Librarian will contribute to the development and delivery of library instruction services, research and information services, and individual research assistance, with special focus on undergraduate and graduate business, engineering, computer science, mathematics, and science students and faculty.  

The STEM/Business Librarian will accomplish this by providing expert and innovative research support to students and faculty in the STEM and Business programs and by working with STEM and Business faculty to deliver an effective information literacy instruction strategy.  He or she will also seek to implement collaborative partnerships with the STEM and Business programs.  Working collaboratively as part of the library’s research team, the STEM/Business Librarian will help deliver research support services to all students and assist with the effective implementation of innovative library technology, online tools, and digital services.

The successful candidate will possess an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science degree and a minimum of three years of relevant academic library experience. Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducts proactive vehicular and foot patrols of assigned buildings and grounds to insure the safest possible environment. Special attention is given to physical security problems, safety hazards, suspicious persons and vehicles, equipment and maintenance problems and the personal safety of all members of the university community. 
  • Investigates, reports and documents all incidents occurring on campus during assigned shift of a safety and security related nature, providing for appropriate corrective action/follow-up.
  • Provides for scheduled and unscheduled door openings and closings for office buildings, residence halls and other facilities.
  • Provides for parking and traffic enforcement on campus; which includes the issuance of parking violations, parking and traffic control measures during special events and the daily monitoring of basic traffic patterns on campus.
  • Provides emergency responses to fire, equipment and security alarms, emergency medical calls, campus disturbances and disaster situations.
  • Responds to reports of maintenance and equipment problems occurring in campus facilities and on grounds; and performs routine maintenance equipment checks for water tower pump house and other designated equipment after normal maintenance department hours. Reports problems to on-all call maintenance staff as necessary.
  • Renders special vehicle assists to faculty/staff, student and visitor vehicles, such as jump starts, lock-outs, flat tire and various mechanical assists as appropriate.
  • Provides transports and escorts for university faculty, staff, and students as appropriate.
  • Investigates reports of lost and found property on campus, safeguards items found until claimed by owners.
  • Interfaces with local police and fire department officials concerning campus and community issues that may impact the safety and security of the university.
  • Maintains a positive professional image to all members of the university and local communities at all times.
  • Subject to working flexible duty hours (includes rotating pass days, shift hours, over-time, weekends and holidays) as scheduled with the potential for on-call status in the event of emergency situations.  Serves as relief officer when full-time staff is off duty on pass days, vacation, sick, etc.
  • Attends all assigned department meetings and training programs as directed.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1 to 2 years of college education in Criminal Justice or related field of study; or the equivalent in job experience and specialized training in police, security, fire, safety or emergency medical services. Other relevant experience may be equated with the above as determined by the Director.
  • CPR Certification
  • Valid driver’s license any state. Good driving record.
  • Clean Police Record.

Staff: Physical Plant - Manager of General Building Maintenance

Cedarville University is seeking a Manager of Building Maintenance to assess, develop, coordinate and supervise the maintenance of all University buildings.  This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position that reports to the Associate Vice President for Operations. This position has been designated as emergency essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Inspects and evaluates the condition of buildings for maintenance issues that need to be addressed to insure established standards are maintained.
  2. Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and a predictive maintenance schedule for all building systems and components across campus.
  3. Manage the operation, maintenance and repair of all University buildings including academic, administrative and utility buildings and residence halls.
  4. Oversee all University structural assets and building systems including
    1. Building envelope systems (brick, EIFS, steel, etc.)
    2. Building interior systems (drywall, ceilings, flooring, windows, doors, etc.)
    3. Building finishing systems (window treatments, accessories)
    4. ADA-applicable systems (grab-rails, openers, closers)
    5. University pest-control actions and activities
  5. Manage and support the general maintenance team and assist them in the field when needed.
  6. Manage the work order process for the general maintenance department – evaluating and assigning all general maintenance work orders.
  7. Responsible to research materials needed to complete repairs and projects in the identified trades areas and manage the purchase process for the department.
  8. Responsible for assisting the AVP of Operations on renovation and new construction projects including bidding, sourcing and on-site project management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Ten (10) years of experience in at least one specialty/trade of the maintenance department and demonstrated experience in construction, construction management or architecture, OR
  2. Ten (10) years of experience in architecture, construction management or a related field and demonstrated experience in at least one of the general trades (carpentry, construction, etc.)
  3. Preference given to those with three (3) years of experience in finish carpentry and / or wood finishing.
  4. Ability to:
    1. Develop a written project scopes,
    2. Develop project cost estimates and schedules,
    3. Read and understand blueprints.
  5. Experience with various types of carpentry power tools and hand tools.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, staff and student workers.
  7. Must possess valid OH driver’s license.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL/MENTAL ABILITIES: 

  1. Work requires routine application of established procedures and practices where basic analytic ability is required.
  2. Heavy work; considerable physical exertion required, occasional lifting or carrying of objects (up to 100 pounds) and regular lifting or carrying of objects up to 50 pounds.

Cedarville University is seeking to hire an Admissions Counselor  to participate in all of the activities related to the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of students at Cedarville University. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Recruit students by identifying prospects and providing relevant service, information and support
  • Be accountable to goals and work with appropriate admissions and prospect data to accomplish goals
  • Utilize resources to move prospects to applicants and applicants to matriculates
  • Follow NCAA rules and regulations in the recruitment of student athletes
  • Represent the University at on-campus recuitment events, college fairs, and conferences.
  • Develop and present recruitment-related information to guests via daily presentations and personal interactions
  • Assist with daily check-in, campus tours, dorm tours, and be available for meetings on campus with guests and other University faculty and staff
  • Develop travel itineraries.
  • Communicate effectively with prospective students and applicants using a variety of communication techniques including phone, e-mail, social media and text messaging
  • Assist in reviewing and following up with undergraduate applications.
  • Engage prospective students and families in conversations related to federal, state, institutional and other financial aid
  • Offer advice related to strategic marketing to prospective students and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Cedarville graduate is preferred
  • Excellent skills in organization, leadership, communication, attention to detail and customer service
  • Must have excellent group presentation skills
  • Must be energetic, creative, flexible, dependable, resilient, tactful, and competitive
  • Experience in sales, group management, marketing, and/or recruiting preferred
  • General computer knowledge including word processing, spreadsheets and social media; experience with CRM software

Staff: University Undergraduate Admissions - Associate Director of Admissions, Recruitment

 

Cedarville University is seeking to hire an Associate Director of Admissions, Recruitment who is responsible for all aspects of leading the team of undergraduate admissions counselors and successfully meeting freshmen application, acceptance, and deposit goals. The Associate Director is directly involved in developing recruitment strategies and tactics. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Achieve enrollment goals for the University's freshman and transfer students.
  • Actively lead the undergraduate recruitment team
  • Represent Cedarville at on- and off-campus events
  • Manage the undergraduate recruitment budget
  • Set application goals by territory
  • Determine travel strategy for college fair representations and school/church visits
  • Coordinate the Columbus and Dayton NACCAP fairs
  • Serve as a member of the Admissions Leadership Team
  • Follow NCAA rules and regulations in the recruitment of student athletes 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience and proven success in sales management, marketing, and/or recruiting
  • Excellent skills in organization, leadership, sales, communication, time management and customer services
  • Must possess excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Must be energetic, creative, flexible, dependable, resilient, tactful and competitive
  • Experience in telemarketing, social media, and use of CRM software is preferred
