Karen Graham-Burnet

Karen Graham-Burnet, PhD, PA-C

Principal Faculty | Professor of PA Studies

Biography

As a PA for over 20 years, Dr. Graham-Burnet has clinical practice experience in geriatrics, neurology, and primary care. She held faculty positions in the PA programs at the University of Toledo (2005-2009) and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (2009-2021) prior to joining the developing PA Program at Cedarville University in the fall of 2021. She has taught a variety of courses in PA programs and particularly enjoys helping students develop evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning skills. Her research agenda is focused on PA faculty development and retention. Dr. Graham-Burnet is active in PA organizations at the state and national level and is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Interests

  • Spending time with my husband and three children, traveling and camping, playing the piano, mentoring PA students and new faculty
  • Why Cedarville?: I am passionate about the PA profession and PA education. I love every part of the PA faculty role – from writing a syllabus to watching students transform into confident, capable clinicians. To be able to continue this career at Cedarville University, at an institution whose mission aligns with my own personal faith and core values, is the opportunity of a lifetime!
