Joe Miller, PhD
Associate Professor of Mechanical EngineeringBackground Summary
Dr. Miller joined Cedarville's mechanical engineering faculty in 2025. He came to Cedarville University after a decade with the US Air Force Research Laboratory as a Senior Aerospace Engineer. Dr. Miller brings practical experience leading science and technology research and development programs in the areas of advanced aerospace propulsion, systems integration, fuels and combustion, and laser-based diagnostics. His doctoral research focused on the development of novel laser-based measurement techniques with application to high-speed combustion and biomass gasification processes, and he completed his postdoctoral fellowship through the National Research Council. Locally, Dr. Miller is an active member of both the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), of which he is an associate fellow.
