Applying to Cedarville

Your first step on your journey to Cedarville University is to apply for admission. We have designed our application process to be as easy and convenient as possible. To complete your online application, go to cedarville.edu/apply.

The first time you access the application, you will need to create an account. Be sure to record both your username and your password for future use. Most students are able to complete the application in only 20 to 30 minutes. There are no long essay questions to complete, but near the end of your application you will be asked to explain how you came to accept the gift of eternal life.

After you've submitted your online application, there are just three pieces of supporting documentation that we will need in order for your application file to be considered complete; first, we need a Christian leader recommendation form. This form can be filled out by an adult who knows you well spiritually. Most applicants use a church leader, a coach, or a teacher. We make it easy for you by sending the online form to the leader for you. All you have to do is give us their name and their email address when you fill out the application.

Number two, we need your high school transcript. If you are applying to enter as a freshman, we usually need six semesters of grades from your high school. Simply give us your high school's contact information when you fill out your application and we will actually contact them for you to request a transcript.

Third and finally, we will need your standardized test scores. We accept the ACT and the SAT, but we also accept the CLT, the classic learning test. Any of these are fine, we don't prefer one over the others, and you only need to take one of those tests.

Once your application is complete, including all those supporting documents, we will review your application and contact you with a decision within 72 hours. After submission, it is common for us to sometimes contact students to request more information before they're accepted. So don't worry if that happens to you.

One of the most common questions we hear from prospective students is, what test scores and GPA do I need to get into Cedarville? Typically we look for a minimum of about a 3.0 GPA, combined with a 21 on the ACT or a 1060 on the SAT, however even if you don't have those scores, I would encourage you to apply. We review every application holistically, so we often accept students who might not quite meet those qualifications.

Best wishes to you as you fill out your application. And remember, if you need any help at all, please contact your admissions counselor at 937-766-7700.
