Position Description:

Cedarville University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Library Science to serve as a Health Sciences Librarian.  This position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track position within the University’s Centennial Library reporting to the Director of Library Public Services. Possessing a health sciences education along with a library degree, the Health Sciences Librarian will contribute to the development and delivery of library instruction services, research and information services, and individual research assistance, with special focus on undergraduate and graduate nursing, pharmacy, kinesiology and allied health, psychology, and social work students and faculty. 

The Health Sciences Librarian will provide expert and innovative research support to students and faculty in the health sciences programs and will work with faculty to deliver an effective information literacy instruction strategy. He or she will also seek to implement partnerships with the health sciences programs. Working collaboratively as part of the library’s research team, the Health Sciences Librarian will help deliver research support services to all students and will assist with the effective implementation of innovative library technology, online tools, and digital services.

Staff: Athletics - Assistant Athletic Trainer

Cedarville University is seeking to hire an Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide care for student athletes competing in the University’s athletic program.  This is a full-time (1760 annual hours) exempt position, reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training & Sports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training & Sports Performance in managing the Athletic Training Facility.
  • Communicate with the Team Physician on all health related matters concerning all Cedarville University (CU) student-athletes.
  • Provide care to CU student-athletes as prescribed or directed by the Team Physician, appropriate physicians, and allied health professionals.
  • Provide supervision at practice and home competition coverage of the varsity and junior varsity men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports throughout the sports seasons.  (Coverage includes proper supervision of staff and athletic training students assigned to each ATC/ACI.) 
  • Travel with varsity teams as required.
  • Maintain a commitment to NCAA, Conference, and University rule compliance.
  • Report any NCAA, G-MAC, and University rule violations to the compliance coordinator.
  • Understand that violations of NCAA, Conference, or University rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • Evaluate athletic injury severity; decipher disposition and management of injury providing emergency care when necessary.
  • Document injuries to athletes using established record-keeping procedures.
  • Submit and manage medical insurance claims for CU athletes sustaining injuries that qualify for Cedarville University’s secondary insurance policy.
  • Be on call during the “non-traditional” practice seasons to care for injuries sustained by the athlete.
  • Assist with the medical coordination and coverage of tournament events hosted by Cedarville University as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training and Sports Performance.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings where current issues and/or problems can be discussed.
  • Provide health care education to coaching staff, student athletes, and students and referral for appropriate help or counseling.
  • Assist and/or advise the coaching staff in the development and implementation of appropriate conditioning, strengthening, flexibility, and programs specific to the demands of the sport.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training and Sports Performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BOC certified
  • Licensed to practice athletic training in the state of Ohio

Cedarville University is looking for a multi-skilled carpenter to provide hands-on leadership for renovation and repair projects.  Perform carpentry related tasks while coordinating with other trades and outside contractors to insure timely completion of a variety of projects.   This is a full-time, 12 month (2080), non-exempt position.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform journey level work in:
  • Framing (metal and wood) 
  • Hanging and finishing drywall
  • Windows and doors
  • Acoustic ceiling tile
  • Finish carpentry
  • Flooring (LVT, carpet tile, wood)
  • Painting
  • Roofing
  • Gutters, eaves, soffits
  1. Select and purchase materials and supplies
  2. Schedule and coordinate outside contractors
  3. Coordinate work with in-house MEP staff
  4. Supervise and train student workers 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school degree or GED.
Journey level skills in 2 or more carpentry disciplines.
Demonstrated successful project leadership experience. 
Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Staff: School of Business Administration - Administrative Assistant

Position Description:

The Cedarville University School of Business Administration (SBA) invites applications for an Administrative Assistant. This is a full-time, ten or eleven-month, non-exempt position. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Dean and Assistant Deans as they lead the School of Business. This includes planning for school events and social media marketing. Additional responsibilities include supporting SBA faculty in their academic and service responsibilities. The Administrative Assistant also represents the SBA to students and guests who visit our facility, seeking to serve them well and to assist them by connecting them to other SBA or university resources.

Position Requirements:

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Resident Director to provide supervision for a female residence hall, which includes: planning and programming, supervising Resident Assistants, administration of University regulations, and residence hall upkeep. Qualified individuals will also provide leadership by serving as a role model for students. This is a full-time (1560 annual hours), exempt position that reports to the Dean of Women.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
  • Hires and provides direct oversight for Resident Assistants.
  • Plans and implements programs for his/her residence hall.
  • Supervises the general maintenance of the residence hall.
  • Administrates the regulations in the residence hall.
  • Assists with student room assignment and processing the students moving in and checking out.
  • Oversees residence hall budget.
  • Maintains accurate records such as: discipline, Spiritual Formation Reports, Room
  • Condition Contracts, room checks, and sign in/sign out records.
  • Cultivates relationships with students, including the Resident Assistants.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Student Development Dean/Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred).
  • Must provide a positive example of a mature and growing relationship with Christ.
  • Must be passionate about working with college students and willing to adjust to changing needs of each new generation of students.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
  • Ability to hear and speak clearly.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Capable of visiting any residence hall room on campus without physical assistance.

Cedarville University is seeking to hire a Full-Time Title IX Coordinator who will work closely with campus security, student development, human resources, academic affairs, athletics, and general counsel to coordinate the University’s compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as well as other laws and rules related to sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, gender and interpersonal violence, sexual assault, and related policy violations on campus. The Title IX Coordinator fosters a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to academic pursuits and the healthy personal development of all persons.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fulfill the duties and expectations as set forth in the University’s Title IX policy and procedures.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and ensure investigations of reports and complaints of sexual misconduct are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential and impartial.
  • Select, train, and oversee designated Title IX Investigators, adjudicators, and advocates; ensure investigators, adjudicators, advocates and those involved with processing Title IX complaints are adequately equipped to provide compliance with Title IX guidance and institutional care expectations. Meet with complainants to inform them of resources, reporting, and resolution options.
  • Coordinate the provision of interim measures as necessary and beneficial.
  • Maintain a record keeping system which tracks, analyzes, and produces reports on the complaints filed, investigated, and resolved.
  • Organize and conduct training about sexual discrimination, sexual violence, and Title IX compliance with all members of the University community.
  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and conduct educational programs and initiatives designed to educate and support faculty, staff, and students regarding their rights and, where applicable, obligations under Title IX, including reporting options/responsibilities, support services, University policy and applicable disciplinary code, grievance procedures, confidential resources, etc.
  • Develop the University’s Title IX resources (ex: web page, printed material, etc.).
  • Create and maintain a system for measuring and assessing Title IX educational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate University community awareness of changes and updates to Title IX laws and regulations.
  • Stay current in training on relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Cultivate relationships and partner with external resources (ex: local law enforcement, professional Title IX investigators and adjudicators).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in Title IX related responsibilities; three to five years’ work experience in the higher education Title IX field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand, and resolve complex and sensitive issues objectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage complex and confidential projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to adjudicate reconciliation from a biblical perspective.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective and appropriate counseling and advice to all levels within the university community including providing information to faculty and staff in area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading people, organizing resources, and establishing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and public safety reporting requirements.
