New LED Sign to Enhance Campus

by Rae McKee, Public Relations Writer

Cedarville University will receive a significant aesthetic and communication upgrade in January 2016 when a new 4-foot by 6-foot LED marquee sign is installed at the intersection of North Main Street and University Boulevard. The sign will serve as a more efficient way to communicate campus events, as well as illuminate the main entrance for visitors.

“The LED sign increases communication to the community of what’s happening on campus and how they can engage with us,” said Jim Amstutz, director of event services. “It will also help to better define our main entrance to the University.”

The sign is being created by Vantage LED of Ontario, California. Advantage LED has created digital signs for businesses, churches, schools, government agencies and other organizations around the country. The new sign, which will be controlled remotely through an iPad, will replace a series of banners and poles, which currently promote events and mark the main entrance.

With the addition of the new sign, the University will be able to communicate various messages to people who drive past the entrance on Route 72. It will also provide a cost savings to Cedarville since the university will no longer create banners for its events.

Located in southwest Ohio, Cedarville University is an accredited, Christ-centered, Baptist institution with an enrollment of 3,711 undergraduate, graduate and online students in more than 100 areas of study. Founded in 1887, Cedarville is recognized nationally for its authentic Christian community, rigorous academic programs, strong graduation and retention rates, accredited professional and health science offerings and leading student satisfaction ratings.
