Leviticus is a book of the Bible that shares the civil, ritual, and communal law given by God to the nation of Israel. But could it be inspiring? Could it have meaning for today? Those were the questions facing Dr. Chris Miller, Senior Professor of Biblical Studies, when he first took a class on the book of Leviticus as a student at Word of Life Bible Institute.
If only Chris had known how much that class on Leviticus would change the trajectory of his life. For the last 30 years, he has taught the Old Testament Literature course at Cedarville, which is often listed as a favorite among students.
Two years ago, Old Testament Literature became accessible online through video, available at no cost for the public. This course has been used by individuals, Sunday school classes, and small groups for their advancement in Christ.
It blesses Chris to see how his love of the Word has encouraged others to love the Bible too. This was the same passion his dad had, which Chris aims to emulate.
“I hope that my dad, who was always such a wonderful student of the Bible, is pleased by that because I stand on his shoulders,” Chris shares during the podcast. “It’s very humbling to think the Lord would allow me to do that.”
