Mark Mathews is in his 39th year as the Director of Campus Recreation at Cedarville University. He earned an undergraduate degree in Physical Education in 1982 from Cedarville College and a master's degree in Recreation/Sports Management in 1990 from The Ohio State University. Mark has been an Adjunct Instructor in the Kinesiology and Allied Health Department since 1984. He enjoys a variety of recreation activities including running, biking, hiking, weight training, rock climbing and disc golf.

Mark and his wife, Dawn (CU 1984) reside in Xenia. They have six children: Melissa (CU '08), Daniel (CU '11), Greg (CU '13), Emily 22 (CU '16), John (CU '21) and Hannah (CU Senior) and ten grandchildren. The Mathews reside in Xenia and are involved in the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church.
