John Gyles Education Awards
John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. They are the result of a private, benevolent endeavour established in 1990. Those selected will receive up to $3,000.00. Several scholarships are awarded directly to students and a list of recipients is available at the end of each calendar year.
To apply for a scholarship applicants must be enrolled full-time at (or accepted to) a college or university program as an undergraduate or graduate student. (High school seniors may apply pending acceptance.) Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a scale of 4.0 (or similar grade assessment) and must also have citizenship in either Canada or the United States. No preference is given to students from either country. Additional criteria are listed on the application form.
Please return your application as soon as possible. Applications must be mailed (postmarked by regular mail) no later than June 1st, 2007 to meet the next deadline. In response to previous requests each applicant can now receive a written reply after June 23rd, 2007 and access to a new program that includes over three hundred alternative and often overlooked funding sources by including eight dollars to cover costs. This is not mandatory but is noted on the application form.
Should you have any questions regarding the application process please call (506) 459-7460. Our office hours are 8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday.
