2019 Spring Semester Group Exercise Class Descriptions

Boot Camp:

Boot camp is an hour long class intended to get your heart rate up and make you sweat. It will incorporate varied functional movements performed at a high intensity. Each workout will include elements of cardio and strength training to improve your overall fitness, and will differ each class. All levels and abilities welcome.

Spin Class

Spin class provides a fun, hour-long cardiovascular workout that includes strength, core and stamina training all while riding along to upbeat music. No prior experience necessary: all are encouraged and more than welcome to come! Each class will be limited to 16 riders based on the number of bikes we have available.

Beginner Swing Dance Class

Beginner Swing teaches the ground basics of the East Coast swing dancing style. Here we start at the very beginning with footwork/form and work up to more complicated ground moves by the end of the semester. This can be for the swing dancing newcomer or the pro, a good way to have fun and learn the basics of swing!

Intermediate Swing Dance Class

This class builds on beginner swing with the addition of aerials. The beginner class is not a prerequisite but strongly recommended to at least have some prior swing dancing experience before entering this class. Guys should feel comfortable and able to do lifts with girls. So for those ready to take their swing dancing to the next level, come on in and have fun learning some aerials!

Zumba (Women-only class)

Each Zumba® class is designed to bring people together. Zumba is a fun dance class that's also a total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class. Let's get dancing!

Strength & Stretch:

This low-intensity class is the perfect mix of intense stretching, balance, mobility, and strength building. The hour long period will be filled with elements of Pilates, core strengthening, and deep stretching to leave you feeling refreshed and re energized. All levels and abilities welcome.

 Women's Self Defense Class:

We live in a fallen world where conflict can and often does turn physical. If we are all made in God’s image how to do you love your neighbor as yourself if they are attacking you and/or your loved ones? Learn Okinawan Karate and Self-Defense techniques/principles that promote life preservation and threat neuralization.

Total Body Fitness:

This class is designed to help make your workouts a little more fun while you enjoy the group atmosphere! We will use a mixture of dumbbell and body weight exercises to get your heart rate up and burn those calories. All fitness levels are welcome to attend!
