Career

Career opportunities abound for students with backgrounds in visual communication design. Visual communication designers are typically involved in any design that combines type and image. With this degree, you may create visual identities, brochures and print collateral, magazine and book publications, T-shirts, signage, film title sequences, advertising, interactive websites, mobile apps, digital interfaces, or various combinations of these. Furthermore, you will develop a diverse collection of projects specific to your chosen emphasis—whether in graphic design or interactive web design—providing a robust, relevant portfolio.

In addition to real-life client projects integrated into your course work, all majors complete design internships before graduating, which prepares you to competitively and successfully pursue entry-level positions in each area of concentration.
