Next Steps for Summer Scholar Students

Upon acceptance to the Summer Scholars program, you may be asking "What's next?"  Please refer carefully to the next steps so that you are prepared for a successful Summer Scholars experience!

Step 1: Register For Your Course

  • Meet with your Dual Enrollment Dual Enrollment Advisor
Dual Enrollment students will receive an e-mail from a Dual Enrollment Advisor after the student is accepted. Dual Enrollment Advisors help with registration and are available to answer questions about the Summer Scholars program.
  • Complete the Summer Scholars Course Request Form
After you meet with your Dual Enrollment Advisor, he/she will give you access to the Summer 2021 course request form. Use this form to request your Summer Scholars course.
  • Submit your $100 partial pre-payment
Visit the Pre-Payment Form to submit your $100 pre-payment to reserve your space in the Summer Scholars program.
Your pre-payment is refundable through April 30. Cancellations after April 30 will forfeit the pre-payment.

Step 2: Plan Your Transportation

  • Airport Transportation will not be permitted for Summer Scholars 2021
We hope to offer airport transportation again in 2022
  • Check-in
Check-in will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021. During check-in you will meet your Resident Advisor (RA), get your room key, and move into your residence hall room. Men: Parker Hall; Women: Bates Hall
  • Orientation
Summer Scholars Orientation will be held directly after check-in from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 12. We will say good-bye to parents at 5 p.m. that afternoon.
  • Departure
Summer Scholars officially ends at noon on Saturday, June 26. All students should plan to depart between 9 a.m. and noon.
  • COVID Plan
While it is our hope that we would stay COVID-19 free, we must plan in the event of a case in the Summer Scholars attendees. Students will be asked to provide a COVID-19 plan in case of presenting symptoms, receiving a positive test result or being quarantined. Students need to have a plan to leave campus within 12 hours of presenting symptoms or receiving a positive COVID test. For more information about the university‚Äôs COVID operation plan, please click  here. Students will have the opportunity to complete their course virtually.
