One Thousand Days Transformed - The Campaign for Cedarville

Molecular Biology Camp

July 8 – 12, 2024

Register now to be a part of Molecular Biology Camp at Cedarville University! Molecular biology, the study of the proteins and nucleic acids essential for life, is a growing field with applications to medicine, pharmaceuticals, genetics, and biotechnology. This camp will help you decide if Cedarville University and the molecular biology major are a good fit for you. Solve problems and learn molecular techniques in a fun and safe environment, using Cedarville’s modern laboratory facilities! Both indoor and outdoor activities will allow you to do the following:

  • Learn how to make insulin by transforming bacteria and purifying your own recombinant proteins.
  • Explore the relationship between the cell cycle and cancer.
  • Identify and analyze tumor suppressor genes using gel electrophoresis.
  • Learn how your immune system works... and more!

Molecular Biology Camp is open to students entering 10th through 12th grades, or incoming freshmen to Cedarville University, who are considering careers in the area of medicine, genetics or molecular biology.
