The Cedarville UniversitySchool of Pharmacy will hold its fourth annual white coat ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the Dixon Ministry Center.
This event will recognize the 39 new students who have been accepted into the Doctor of Pharmacy professional. The entrance of this class will bring Cedarville’s professional program to 175 students.
“This incoming class is an impressive, professional group that is excited about their profession and the opportunity to be at Cedarville,” said Marc Sweeney, Pharm.D., dean of the school of pharmacy.
The white coat ceremony symbolizes not only the accomplishments of these students, but the professional program as a whole, which has grown considerably since it began.
At the ceremony, students entering the professional program will receive their white coats and recite the pledge of professionalism, which is a pledge to serve others through the profession of pharmacy.
“The white coat not only symbolizes entry into the profession of pharmacy but also the commitment to quality, ethical patient care,” Sweeney said.
