Theatre Cast and Crew Host Clothing Drive

The cast of Cedarville University’s production of “The Music Man” is accepting donations of hats, scarves, gloves and mittens to be distributed to those in need. Donations will be accepted during the play’s two-week run, from Thursday, Feb. 2, through Feb. 12. Tickets can be purchased online at Cedarville.edu/ticketinfo.

Rebecca Baker, associate professor of theatre and the production’s director, hopes the play’s cast and members of the local community can come together to provide warm winter accessories for area residents.

The cast from “The Music Man” is partnering with the Nehemiah Foundation in Springfield on this heartwarming project.

According to Baker, “It’s really an integration of faith and the arts.”

Donations of new or lightly used hats, scarves, gloves and mittens may be placed in a receptacle outside the DeVries Theatre in the Stevens Student Center on Cedarville’s campus.

The items will be brought to The Nehemiah Foundation, who will distribute them to shelters and centers like the Interfaith Hospitality Network and the Springfield Soup Kitchen.
